Introducing... The Elmo Toy of 2011 and Beyond!

Music time is finally here. It's time to Rock out with ELMO!

Let's Rock Elmo is destined to be a sensation this 2011 holiday season. Elmo is a extremely popular character from Sesame Street that has been a major part of the American youth’s experience of growing up. Everyone remembers Elmo teaching us the alphabet and the corresponding sounds of each letter, and Elmo having sing along parties with the other members of Sesame Street.

Look - ELMO Is Going Mainstream!

A recent episode featured Elmo singing next to pop-star Katy Perry. It doesn’t get any more mainstream than that. Unfortunately Children’s toys have increasingly become about vanity, speed or violence. With an increasing trend towards technologically advanced but impersonal gadgets. In an effort to bring back truly amazing toys Hasbro introduces Let’s Rock Elmo, an interactive toy that will surely delight your child and teach them about music.

This delightful little character comes Dressed to impress in a concert-style tee, Elmo takes the stage singing and making music - and preschoolers can too!

Elmo comes with his very own microphone and two instruments – a tambourine and a drum set. Preschoolers can choose which instrument Elmo plays, and he "magically" recognizes which one you give him.

Kids can also play along on Elmo’s instruments - they’re perfectly sized for little itty-bitty hands!

For even more rockin’ fun, Elmo also interacts with other LET’S ROCK instruments (each sold separately); he knows when you’re playing the LET’S ROCK Guitar, Keyboard or Microphone and plays along with you! The LET’S ROCK Elmo toy sings six rockin’ songs, so grab an instrument and join Elmo’s band!

    CUSTOMER REVIEWS:

We picked this out with our 2 year old in mind. She has two brothers, ages 5 and 6. The best thing I can say about this toy is that they all play with it. I was definitely not anticipating that! What sets this apart is that the older boys pick up on the songs (or know them already) really quickly, so there is no competition. They play WITH her rather than trying to take it from her or get her to "leave them alone," etc. It was her brothers, and not me, who finally showed her she could let go of Elmo's hands and he would still bang his drums and clap on his tambourine. She prances around with that microphone like she's LIVE and IN CONCERT! While the toy itself is a little loud, it's definitely not as annoying as some other toys because it's not as repetitive. There are six songs, but maybe it's because they sing more than the same 3 lines that it doesn't bother me as much as most of her other musical / singing toys. Overall, I think the Let's Rock Elmo is super fun, a bit loud, and pretty low on the parental irritation scale. It's been 3 days now, and she has played with it every day without playing with it ALL day, so I think it's a toy she will continue to enjoy, as well.

    --------

The newest Sesame Street "Let's Rock Elmo" toy is a welcome surprise for my three year old who absolutely adores Elmo. He is such a big part of her life and many children around her age. This new Elmo toy will guarantee hours of fun for any child and some adults(I know I had fun) and it will also help with their developmental and motor skills while giving them the gift of music all combined in one toy. Elmo seems to really be interacting with your child as well as the instruments as he jams to the music throwing his head back with glee.

Elmo is interactive and recognizes the different instruments from the tambourine to the bongos, but there are also other instruments like the "Let's rock Elmo guitar" and the "Let's rock keyboard"(sold separately) the Rock Elmo will recognize when you play them and he will join in with you. Elmo plays six songs that you are sure to have fun with and enjoy. I will buy the other instruments for her to help enhance her love of music or maybe it's just her love for Elmo.

    Elmo meets Glee!

Of all the Sesame Street characters, Elmo is the closest thing to a real toddler, the target market for this toy. The instruments this Elmo comes with are perfect for an 18 month old, and the bongos and tamborine are SO much fun to pound and shake. The icing on the cake is that Elmo sings along with the instruments, throws back his head and--LAUGHS! What child wouldn't adore this?

The toddler I'm testing this on is very musical. He loves to sing and dance, and though he's not a Sesame Street child, he lights up when Lets Rock Elmo is around. He's not very verbal just yet, but if smiles and grabbing are any indication, he loves this Elmo.

From a practical standpoint, LR Elmo is sturdy, and the removable bongos, tamborine and mike are too big to choke on. All the parts are softish plastic, so the entire toy seems pretty safe. No, this Elmo isn't cuddly, but I defy anyone of any age to not want to hug him.
